'KingUnderground' was co-founded by friends Dan Englander and Peter McCaffrey as an online record-retail store in 2005 and was started with a Prince's Trust Loan. Now it is owned solely by Dan but it operates out of Milton Keynes, England as an independent record label, releasing funk, soul, hip hop & jazz.

“This started as a passion project and continues to be so. I grew up skateboarding, listening to hip hop, DJing and collecting records which all led onto producing music. This is just what I do, it’s fun so it’s been an organic growth to get to where it is now. I want to create a home for our artists and it means a lot to me to be able to connect all the dots for them. There’s a good deal that goes into releasing a record that some people might not appreciate. This is a platform for free creativity and making the music you like, our job is to put the music out there for you. The label started off predominantly releasing hip hop. At the end of 2011, we signed Lewis Parker and released his album, “The Big Game”. Over the years the label has evolved into us releasing other genres and artists. High Pulp, Magic In Threes, The New Mastersounds, Torb The Roach, Yogisoul, Simiah, The Soul Surfers, Fredfades, Ivan Ave, Mr Brown, Jonny Drop & CRAC are a few names that are part of the offering.
